Please take a taxi from JR Takamatsu station to the hotel.  The conference will provide the free shuttle bus services which will connect the conference site with the 4 hotels. The shuttle buses will be available at each hotel and the conference site every 30-40 minutes.

5. How to buy the JR train ticket

There are two kinds of ticket to be bought. The one is the ticket for ride. The fee depends on the distance for which you ride the train. The ordinary train and the rapid train except express trains can be taken with this ticket. It will be free to get off and re-ride the train within the term of validity (generally, one week for the ticket of long distance travel), as long as you will move forward between the start station and destination shown in the ticket.

To take an express train and/or reserved seat in the train, extra ticket will be requested in addition to the ticket for ride. In the case, you should buy such a ticket only for the section where you will use such a train and/or seat. If you will travel from Narita Airport to Takamatsu with taking an Express Train from Narita Airport to Tokyo and a Shinkansen "Hikari SuperExpress" from Tokyo to Okayama, you have to buy a ticket for ride from Narita Airport to Takamatsu and also an Express Train ticket from Narita Airport to Tokyo and a Shinkansen SuperExpress ticket from Tokyo to Okayama.

Shinkansen has three kinds of trains, "Nozomi", "Hikari" and "Kodama". "Nozomi" is the fastest train and the extra ticket fee will be more expensive than the other train's one. "Hikari" and "Kodama" extra ticket fee is same. "Nozomi" has only reserved seats. "Hikari" and "Kodama" have both of reserved seats and non-reserved seats. The extra ticket fee for non-reserved seats is a little less expensive, comparing to the fee for the reserved seats. Almost Shinkansen Trains have green cars which are a kind of first class car. Every ticket can be bought at any JR train station. JR has a special discount ticket only foreigners can buy, which is called "JR Pass". This can be bought only outside Japan and only by non Japanese people. According to your travel period or distance, it will be recommended to bring JR pass. For the details, please contact your travel agent.

6. Money Exchange for Buying Ticket of Transportation

Cash payment will be required to take domestic transportation, like buses, taxi, trains and so on. Takamatsu Airport has no service for Exchange of Money. The exchange of money will be available at banks in the Takamatsu city. So, we would like to suggest you change the money at the first arrival airport in Japan or bring Japanese yen when you will leave your country.
