Liaison for Technology Transfer

　　The Mechanical Engineering Laboratory provides the following technology services to other research organizations and private industry:

Technology Transfer
　　Transfer of the results of our research activities to outside organizations by various means, including technical training, can be arranged by contract on the basis of mutual consultation.

Technical Consultation
　　The laboratory welcomes technical inquiries by letter or telephone. Meetings for consultation can also be arranged. These services are usually provided without charge.

Joint Research
　　The laboratory conducts joint research with private industry on subjects of mutual interest, on a cost-sharing basis. Contracts for these research projects are drawn up according to the "Rules for Joint Research" of AIST.

Laboratory Visits
　　The laboratory welcomes visits by members of other research organizations and private industry, from both within Japan and overseas.

Testing Services
　　The laboratory provides testing services in certain fields. Fees for these services are fixed by the Japanese Government.

Sponsored Research
　　Arrangements can be made for the laboratory to conduct research sponsored by outside organizations, according to AIST regulations.
