8.Laser-ablation of Biological Hard Tissues
KrF-excimer laser irradiation to the rat tibia
Various kinds of laser are used as laser surgical knives in wide area such as brain surgery,cancer treatment,and operations on internal organs.The laser surgical knives contribute to shortening the operation time and the decrease of patient's pain with its excellent operativeness.
The laser surgical knives are not used for incision of hard tissues because of the delay in curing,etc.Nevertheless,the laser is a powerful candidate as the incision device in the hard tissue operations such as bone operation in the orthopedics department.Because,force does not act at the incision and a minute operation is possible.
In this study,the ablating examination of the animal bone is carried out by using chiefly the excimer laser.The research of understanding the relation between the laser irradiating condition and cutting characteristic and curing passage observations is being done.
